Optimism has helped Americans to avoid stroke
American scientists from the University of Michigan studied the influence optimism   on disease stroke . To do this, they carried out within 2 years of observation of a group of volunteers, consisting of 6,000 people.

In the study group were 2500 men and 3500 women aged fifty years for health reasons similar to a stroke. None of these prior studies history stroke   He did not appear, but during the observation time they occurred in 88 participants. The degree of optimism of the subjects was determined by the specially developed form of questions and answers on the assessment scale from three to eighteen points.

Experts have identified the following pattern: increasing optimism by 1 point tends to reduce the risk of stroke by 10%.   This relationship remained even when other factors affecting the increase in the risk of stroke, were taken into account (behavioral, biological, social, demographic).

It research   confirmed the conclusions reached earlier by the University of Minnesota, who studied the effect of depression the occurrence of stroke in women who have come to similar conclusions: those who experience depression and hopelessness, are more prone to the risk of stroke than those who are optimistic about life. Be optimistic!
