 Malaria is again in Europe
It has been almost half a century since, as Europe got rid of malaria   - Diseases accompanied by dangerous symptoms: enlarged liver and spleen, shivering, fever, anemia   etc. And here again the European mosquitoes began to carry the disease.

Residents of five Greek provinces on themselves felt a new wave of malaria: already recorded 61 cases. Apparently, the disease is not those brought in by tourists, and has a local origin. In addition, scientists insist that malaria infection from another person is not possible except by the patient pregnant   mother to child. Vectors are mosquitoes through bites is a disease and is transmitted.

This outbreak in Greece is the largest in Europe. It is encouraging is that the chance of spreading the disease to other countries remains minimal. Greek carriers of infection has become one of the four species of malaria mosquito, which occurs mainly in Latin America and Asia.

These mosquitoes are not caused by the worst form of malaria. Its symptoms include joint pain and fever. However, here lies a hidden danger: even after recovery the disease can occur in a latent form, in which the parasite remains in the liver in dormant . This feature of this type of malaria complicates the treatment and diagnosis.

Already it recorded several cases of infection with the Romanian and German travelers who visited Greece. But the sanitary service has not yet been considered necessary to introduce any protective measures against infection.
